Finally putting the finishing touches on the redesign of MRV, a project that has been in development for nearly a year. The revamped site not only got a complete visual and structural overhaul, but a good portion of the site is now database-driven and manageable via the web.

James Widegren from THREE.OH and Nathan Flood from nginco are curating a Photoshop Face to Face Competition, based on the premise of the Friends of Ed book Photoshop Face to Face. I, along with the rest of the authors of the book, have been invited to be a juror for the competition, and I'm really looking forward to seeing all the submissions that come in. Did some grungy work for the inaugural guest gallery on my blind eyes, an experimental site run by my longtime friend and musician/artist/beard-grower extraordinaire Casey Paquet. The work will be featured on the cover for 5 days - after that it will reside in the archives. Be sure to check out Casey's daily projects while you're there as well.

Recently finished up work on a chapter for the upcoming book Photoshop Face to Face. Straight from the horse's mouth: "This is a full color inspirations title from friends of ED, aimed at showing professionals and home users alike how to access the multiplicity of techniques available in Adobe Photoshop. By using such a familiar model as the human face, the effectiveness and originality of these techniques is thrown into sharp relief". Just put the final touches on Digital Photography with Photoshop Elements, a book I'm co-authoring with Gavin Cromhout of Lodestone. It is due to be published in April by Friends of Ed, and can be ordered at Amazon.

I've been working on DesignLaunchpad.com for a few months now, but haven't done much to spread the word yet. Check it out, it's a bimonthly column that serves to assist beginning graphic designers. There's also some free downloads and other resources as well.
